Hey guys,
Nice new forum!
I own a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rec, when playing @ The Garage a few months back the guitarist in the band used it as backup to his (in the shop - Flynn Amps actually!) Mark 3.
Half way through the set, the amp blew some tubes.
I've replaced the 5U4G rectifier valves that had went, but still the amp didn't seem happy, so I bought 4 x JJ 6L6's which arrived today.
In the process of changing the originally MEsa tubes I've noticed that one of the tubes has had the glass de-couple from the plastic casing at the bottom of the tube and this plastic is stuck inside the tube socket on the amp, I also now see that one of the pins are stuck in as well.
Is there a safe way of fixing this problem, I've phoned into Flynn Amps to be told that the only sure way of fixing this is to open the amp up and get them out somehow, which would of course mean another £40 or so.
ARGH!
HELP!
